Our trip to Pak'nSave E.W.

One day on a school day I went on a trip to Pak'nSave as our inquiry is about food nutrience. We went there by bus and went into the super market. We wrote down all of the healthy foods and did a rainbow of food on our nutrience sheet. When our class (room 22 ) was going back to the bus, it broke down so we waited for a not broken down bus. In the meantime we sang " We are stranded on this bus on this bus on this bus!" countless times. When we were singing I was silently laughing. But suddenly I could not take any more. I burst out laughing. Then the sleek new bus came and the broken down bus driver drove us back to school.( plus we missed morning tea!)

In term 1 rm22 had a nutritious in our class beause. We were learning about healthy food we learnt allot about healthy food . We got to go to pak'n save to see what was healthy and wasn't healthy.We all went outside to go back to school Naomi gave our teacher Miss Iowans a gift card to go and get some healthy food for our healthy lunch.We had lots of yummy food.I had a great time.

Term One Reflection

Term one was AWESOME
I think I improved in maths , reading , poetry and spelling.
But, Term two will be more AWESOME because the year sixes are going to camp!!!
So far , room 22 is great but will be better at the end of the year.
Maths is fun , Mr K lets people play maths games on the computer after they have finished every thing.

Term 1 Reflection

I am in Room 22 and it is a really nice class to be in. My teacher is name is Miss Lowans and she is a really nice teacher and she is a perfect teacher to have. So far I have einjoyed going to
Pak n Save for a trip and learning about healthy food that we should eat everyday and food that we should only eat sometimes.

In class I think I have have to improve on writing poems with personification. In reading I am in the group Non Fiction. In maths my teacher is Mrs Foot and she teaches me fun and good strateges.Mrs Green comes every second Friday to teacs us and we have fun doing art.

I am looking forward to Year Six camp next term.

Term 1 Reflections RVDM

This term I improved in maths, reading, writing and poetry. I feel proud because I learnt how to read labels on our trip to Pak n Save. I have completed last years goals and got some new ones. I learned things like division and subtraction. I also made lots of new friends and we are having fun. On our trip to sonshine Ranch I learned how to guide a horse. Mine was called Hive.

I think during term 1 I have gotten better at my writing , I have learnt how to describe a character and how to use personification.I also think I have gotten better at my swimming,because I didn't know anything about breath stroke at all.

Term One Reflection NE

My Term One Memories
In term one we went to Pack ‘n’ Save for a class trip.
At Pack ‘n’ Save we learnt about healthy eating.
While we were learning about healthy eating I noticed that the things I like the best are unhealthy, like chocolate and chips.
When we went to Pack ‘n’ Save we were given a voucher for $60 so we were able to make a healthy lunch at school, we had smoothes with berries in, sushi and nice yummy wraps!

In maths this year I have improved enough to move up two classes, I am really proud of what I have done!

When the year 5s went on camp to the Marae and sonshine ranch I stayed in Miss Pillay’s class for two days. In Miss Pillay’s class we learnt about the rain forest and how it makes oxygen. If we keep on cutting
Down the trees there will be no more rain forest to make the oxygen we breathe!

Term 1 reflection E.W 6

This term in Room 22 I have made a lot of new friends. The thing that I have loved is ...writing little poems. When we had our heathy lunch the wraps were sooooooo good. I have really enjoyed maths in Room 15 this term. I cannot wait till next term!!!

This term I think l'm doing very well .Because I've learnt how to use personification in my writing,and how to identify metaphors .Also this term I found out how to make addition multiplication .But the best thing of all,was when I went on the flying fox at camp and it was Awesome

Term One Relfection AM

This term we had a healthy lunch and we got to make it our self's , we voted cause we had a lot of ideas so we had two kinds for food and one drink, so we had Sushi, Chicken Warps and a Berry Smoothie it was so delicious.

The year fives went on a school camp we went to Sonshine Ranch for two days . The first we day was at the marae on the second day we went to Sonshine Ranch ,we got to ride horses we learned how to guide a horses mine was called Lina she was so cute she was the 3rd biggest. Everyone had fun well I did.I can't wait for next years camp.

In maths I never understand place value but now I do and it is fun to do i think that maths is getting really fun maths. I bet that term two is going to be so great.

Term 1 reflection mdk

In term 1 we had our healthy lunch at school. I really enjoyed our healthy lunch because we got to make Wraps super Sushi and a nice yummy Berry Smoothie.

Last year I was in the middle for maths and now I'm in the highest maths class! I have made a big improvement and I can tell because in my division test last year I got 28/50 and this year I got 49/50. I hope I get 50/50 next time.

Eating fishnchips

My mouth waters from the smell of lovely fishnchips I hold my self back. Finally I attack . The chips shriek HELP. I crunched, the potato squeezed through my mouth. It was as hot as an oven on high. I had a fish. It crunched like at the car crushers. The fish swam down my throat.

Year 5 camp ALB

On Tuesday all there 5's went to Sonshine Ranch .We also went to the Papkarua Marae on Monday morning. When all the Year 5's went to Sonshine Runch, parents and teachers and all the Year 5's got split up in to 2 groups. Room 13 and 12 also some of Room 14 went together and Room 22, Room 15 and some of Room 14. When we got into the 2 groups, the owner of Sonshine Ranch told us where the 2 groups were going. One group went horse riding and the rest of them went to the flying fox. It was so fun. Then after the horse riding the group went to the water confidence course. I had a great day there and we had lunch and went on the flying fox and then we came back to school.

Year 5 Camp ! K.D

On Monday 5th March 2012, the Year 5's went on camp to a marae.  They said a speech in Maori.  We sang our school song.  They sang a song as well and the a man came up and said it all in English.  We then had morning tea and after that we did a poi, sticks, fried bread and flax.  We than had another talk about the marae, and then had lunch.  We had a tour arount the marae and the hangi pit.  We then did tai chei and zumba.  We went to the field for one hourm then had the hangi.  I sort of like it but it but that's my opinion.  Dessert was apple pie with custar.  It was yum.  We did skits and then got ready for bed.

 

 

Swimming 2012 JWM

At swimming its super duper epic fun. Somtimes it's freezing like when you're in a big fridge plus its outdoor which is even more awesome.


There is a game called Whirlpool.  It's the best game I have ever played. The game is like split into two groups,then you go one way around then about ten minutes you go the other way around.

On the 28 of February the people who was good at swimming went to the swimming sports.

A lot of my friends are in the swimming sports like Connor and Josh . They did
back stroke, free style and more things. They were exellent.  So many parents came.
If you come first place you got a coloured stick and second you got a different coloured stick
and third place you got another coloured stick. I saw Connor racing and he came first.
He always comes first. Last year he bet Mr K and everyone else. I wish Iwas good at swimming.

Sonshine Rance GB

On Tuesday 7 March, we went by bus to Sonshine Ranch. to experience the outdoors.  First we went to the small animals.  I fed grass to the rabbits and almost got bucked by the mountain goats. 

Suddenly some horses emerged from the green bushes.  People on the horses started waving to us.  So we starteded to fuoolow them back to the stable.  We got in line to get our helmet.  Finally they gave us our horses.  I think I got the biggest horst in the pack.  When I got on it, I was scared stiff but when he started moving I thought it wasn't so scary after all.

Sonshine Ranch JB

Giddy up! I loved the great ponys I rode one called Teddy he was really well behaved.  It was the first time in my life that I rode a horse. All the horses kept farting and pooping. At first I was petrified.  It was freaky but after a while it was awesomely fun.  We rod lapts of a track at the beginning, then we went on the outside track.   It was so fun.  We passed trees, lots of trees.  it was a stone path.  It must of hurt the horses hooves but its feet are so strong.  After that we galloped back, and went around twice more and held our horses and hopped off and said bye, and passed them onto another child.

Year 5 camp, A.M

On the 6th Tuesday 2012 all the Year 5's went to Sonshine Ranch. It took about 10 minutes to get there from the marae. When we got there, we got split up into groups A and B. I was in Group A. We got to go horse riding and feed the bunny rabbits and touch the goats. Half of Group A went to feed the pets. The others went horse riding. I went feeding the pets first. I got to go and pat the bunny rabbits. I got to hold the bunny. It was white and so cute. I got the black one and the grey one too.

Once we did that the other group came. First we went to get our helmets. My size was 54 and my horse was called Lina. She was cute. We went around in a circle 5 times, and then 4 times zig zagging around the poles.

After that we went on the track. We had to lean forward when going up the hill and lean back if we were going down.

On Tuesday we had our swimming sports. We first had to go the pool. All the kids had to sit under the big yellow tent. There are blue mats on the grass. We all get ready to cheer. Away they go all.  The children start to cheer for their houses and we go"Blake Blake Blake" and the are doing freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. At the end of swimming we got to do free time. I did divining in to the pool. It was fun.

Year 5 Camp

On Monday and Tuesday I went camping. On Monday we were at a marae on Tuessday we were at Sonshine Ranch. When we were at Sonshine Ranch we were split into 2 groups and I was in group A. First we went to the horses. It was my first time to steer a horse. My horse was called Hive. After that we went to the water confidence course and I was the first one on the scarest course. I scraped my self on the course and got hurt so when we moved on I did not do any more. Next we went to the flying fox it looks like your really flying. Along with the rope swing which last year someone got stuck on. When we were done their we went to the bus and came back to school.

Year 5 camp DL

On Monday we travelled by bus to the marae. We did lots of activities there. It was super fun. On Tuesday we went to Sonshine Runch it had dusty roads. I went to horse riding it was amazing. The fling fox was freaky. When I went on the rope swing I felt like a bird flying through the air. Year five camp was really fun.

When I put the popcorn In the micowave and pushed the start button my mouth can't wait for it to finish cause you can smell the butter just dripping on to the popcorn and I'm just waiting there for it to go beeb beeb beeb..........Then when it finshed I said yum,yum,yum because I can smell the butter steaming through the micowave door.

At Sonshine Ranch I went to do horse riding and I got a pony!


The name of the pony was Mini Monty and he/she wanted to do what it liked.


My Mum pulled Mini Monty on the mini track and the biiiiiig track like Mum walking a dog!


It was the funniest and best day in my life.

On the 28th of February we had our swimming sports.

I did freestyle and breaststroke, I had some tough competition.
I came first in one of my races because Wyane is a really good teacher.
I came second in three of my races and fourth in two of my races.
Sheppard did really well, we were all cheering them on.
It was really fun and we won so many challenging races.
We had a wonderful time, there was so much noise.

On Tuesday the 28th of February the Year 5 and 6 had swimming sports.

I was in freestyle and I was coming first but then I stood up when I was not meant too.

We raced 4 people and it wa sfunny when people were doing backstroke.
They were going side to side. All the house leaders had to put the Year 5 and Year 6 in like 9  year old boys.

On Tuesday we had swimming sports. It was a really hot day a and after swimming sports everyone got free time.Each class got 20 minutes in the pool.We got to do dives.It was heaps of fun but the water was a little cold but soon it got hotter.

Iplayed tag and I got tagged twice.The water was calm and blue.When we jumped in pool there were splashes all over the uan and I had swimming race Yuan won the race.We did freestyle in our race.I place.

IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Super Swimming Lessons

At the beginning of the term we started swimming lessons. Our instructors are called Wayne and Antonia. Wayne is very funny and always makes me laugh. I really enjoy super swimming lessons
They both helped us to get better at swimming. I was selected to participate in the swimming sports. I did really well!!! I can swim like a fish now! I had lots of fun . I liked doing an awesome whirlpool at the end of the lesson.

Swimming Sports 2012

At the 28 of February 2012 it was a HOT day and it was also swimming sports.

I was really nervous because I was particapating in freestyle, breastroke and backstroke.
First eight year old girls, eight year old boys, then nine year old girls.
My turn to race. Freestyle. As Mr.K claps the clapper I dive in. One,two,three strokes.As I lift my head to breathe, I could hear people shouting HILLARY! HILLARY! HILLARY! finally I finished.
The same happened with backstroke and breastroke.
After all that I felt really tired. But that was worth it because we get FREE TIME in the pool.

On the 28 February 2012 I watched the swimming sports. I saw all the people who made it in the finals racing. I was cheering for my house Batten . They were doing freestyles/back stroke breast stroke .I enjoyed watching them.  Some were swimming fast and kicking hard. I saw long arms go up in the air and down in the water while doing freestyle .Even though I didn't make it in the finals I still had fun watching.

On the 28th of February it was a hot day and people were lined up for swimming sports the first was freestyle.

Ready steady ''CLAP''went Mr K as he clapped the clapper.

The clapper was as strong as the sun shining brightly.

Everyone in the first row went, ''SPLASH''!As the people went into the water, it splashed everywhere!

Even some of the nice parents got wet!

Yeah I made it to the end and luckily I came second.

After morning tea. we did breaststroke.

I came first but the sad thing is that I broke the water twice, and in this school we are not allowed so we are disqualified.

So for the rest of the day all I did was sit in the hot sun for there was nothing else to do!

Horse Riding EW

I went camping on Monday the 5th and Tuesday the 6th of March. The thing that I loved most was horse riding! I rode a horse named Mini Monty. Monty was the smallest pony because it was a Shetland pony. We rode around in circles at first and then we went for a ride with the horses.
Monty was a rascal! She liked to go her own way. The people who were in charge of the horses put them in a special order so they would not fight. The walk was awesome! After the walk we went around in a circle twice and lined them up against the wall. Then we got off the horses backs. We walked away as soon as the thirteen people from group A touched the ground with their feet.

At swimming sports there were my friends Josh, Connor,Josh T, and Jordan at the shade.  I was shouting for Batten to win and it was a great swimming sport's day.  People were even screaming. It was so exciting I was cheering, "Go Batten, yeah !"  If I was in the swimming sports I would try to win all my races.  It looks so hard to get into the swimming sports , but all you need to do is swim the whole length of a pool to get in. The swimming sports looked so fun and exciting.

At the start of the school term we started swimming lessons Wayne and Antonia. Antonia teaches the cool group 3. They are people that need to practice their arms and kicking. Wayne is teaching group 4 they can swim a whole length. I think Wayne and Antonia are awesome funny and cool at swimming lessons.

On the 28 February we had our swimming sports. We started off the day with the roll and then we moved to the courts. Some of the teachers said some things and told us how things where going to work.

Then house by house we walked to the swimming pool. I did free style,backstroke and breast stroke.

I did really well in the races and made it to the finals. But unfortunatly I am not going to interschools.

It was sooooo much FUN ! ! ! !

Swimming SM

Today we went swimming with Antonia because Wayne was away.We had normal lessons, then we had some free-time.Most people played sharky with me.before we had free-time, we did free-style, backstroke, dolphin dive and dolphin dive with free-style arms.It was very fun, I hope we could do it again.

In the start of week 4,we had swimming sports. We watched the sports but it was still fun. my step-sister Portia, won first, second and third place in free-style! I sat with one of my best friends.

Ice-Cream

As I devour the taste of vanilla ice-cream, a smile spreads across my face like spreading nutella across a sandwich.The ice-cream melts in my mouth and it feels disgusting but delicious. As I swallow the ice-cream I get a brain freeze but it is all worth it.

I get the feeling that I am diving into complete darkness.

As soon as the feeling goes away, I take another spoonful.

And another until the bowl is empty.

Ice-cream is delicous.

A day at the beach.

Me and my family went to a beach last month. It was hot as a oven that day.

It was so HOT that Luke almost turned into SAND!

Mum almost into jelly and Dad into water.

I was about to be a cake and the family too!

We went across a bridge over the blue sea.

The bridge went to Half Moon Bay but it was not too long.

We went to get two ice-creams from the shop and we went home.

Macaroni Cheese

Eating mac and cheese mac.  It is very cheesey when I eat it. It feels like a snake slithering down my throat.

The old spooky house

The was this house in the neighbourhood. No one would dare go near go near it. No one lived in it.  It was  old and rusty. It had broken windows and lots of spider webs. They're are bats hanging on the edge of the house. No one knew were the house came from. It also had a sign on top of the house saying Beware .

I was sitting down slowly slurping my Slushie. I could taste the amazing flavour. The flavour


was bursting into my mouth. Suddenly oh no BRAIN FREEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


My mouth was as cold as a ice block in a freezer. Finally the annoying


brain freeze stopped. It only lasts around a minute but it sure


is extremely cold when you get a brain freeze! Now all


the joyful juice is making my lips ruby red. I only


had a little bit of ice left over. So I ate it

Eating Slushy

Last year at Christmas in 2011 I got a machine that makes dream slushy. When we made it we put extra ice with coke a cola and it was delicious. I took a small sip as the coke dived into my mouth like a waterfall. The little frozen ice swimming along.When I was finished I asked for  adream freeze.Well , asI was waiting I  thought how yum and cold it is. I started drooling like a bulldog.When I got it I took a sip the ice melted as it met my mouth.When I took another sip I got a brain Freeze feeling like I was a popsical. It was a delicious frozen dreamland.

Walking on the Beach EW

When it is nice and sunny, we go to the beach and walk the dog and Cory my 14 year old brother who is sometimes mean to me went and had a dip in the water. We go and then get four ice-creams for Cory and my mum and Matt and me from the shop and then we eat it on the beach. I walk along the beach and get some beautiful shells along the way.

All that I can see is people fishing at 90 Mile Beach. Then when I walk back with Razz my dog that is very cute and he is about 8 months old. Then we are taking in the line and we can see is fish jumping up and down.

We would always dig our little toes in the brown sand. Cory and Razz run all the way up to the sand dunes and then jump and fall over at the bottom, and then I started laughing at Cory and Razz

Then it was time to go back to the bach up on the hills.

Candy Land R.L

This COLURFUL place made out of candy is full of rainbow colurs

like:red,green,blue,pink,orange,yellow,purple & violet. It's a splendid place full of candy where

there are NO spiders , NO snakes & NO scorpions. You can eat anything your heart desires even the toilet [which you probably won't eat]

There is even a lolly castle surrounded by floating JELLY beans.

Its a FANTASTIC place to be ! ! !

beautiful spring morning

On a beautiful spring morning, I crossed a freezing cold shallow lake to get to the soft sandy beach. I hiked along the beach as creative shells wash up on the shore. While the tides went in and out around my feet. A boogie boarder rode the laughing and lonely waves

The Haunted House

One night at 12.oo o'clock a little boy sneaked out of his parents house and walked down his street. Then he saw the very old, scary ,spooky house that lived two house's down from his parents house. He took one step up the wooden stairs and took a peek through the door. The next day he went back to his parents house and back to the hanted house.T hen all of a sudden a vampire popped out from the front door and took one bite and killed the boy. Oh DEAR!!!!!!

first day of school

I was walking through the bumbly grey path. The gentle wind pushes the brown yellow onto the lime green grass. It's fantastic go to Botany DowSchool! I walked through the bumble yellow class rooms. I walked to paper white door. I saw the outstanding glowing class room. Room 22. It had raspberry carpet, and fancy red and black tables. The best of all there is a bright yellow clock bay. The fully decoraded class room is as fascinating as blocks of gold. The first day of school went as quick as a blink of an eye.

The Walk in the Forest

It is an Autumn day. The long skinny trees are slowly moving side to side. The yellow and pink leaves are getting old and dropping down into the blue deep dark river. The big mud puddles are getting bigger and bigger.

That bushy bush is and darker and darker. Insects are flying around. It is so silent all I hear in my ears are birds singing with their soft voices. As I come out of that bushy bush I feel so happy to be in such a peaceful place.

Stroll in the Park ajk

It was a sunny Sunday morning so I went to the park to go for a little walk in the park so I began to walk. In the park I saw a man walking his dog.
A few steps away there was a playground. On the playground there was a mum pushing her baby on the swing. Then I saw some boys playing rugby. My brother was playing with his dog Jimmy. Jimmy was fast as Flash Gordon until his leg injury. Then I got to the end of my walk. See you next time, byebye.

Eating noodles

I had my fork ready to twirl the noodles on the fork that I was holding. The fork was glinting like pure shimmering shiny silver . I put my fork into the brown wooden bowl. As I sucked the noodles into my mouth, soup sprayed my silky white dress like a sprinkler. It was flaming hot, so I let go of my fork and ran to my room .After a minute I came back into the living and started eating again . This time I made sure there was some space between the table and myself. When I had sucked it again, the hot lovely smell covered my mouth , warming my whole body. Then I tasted the soup. The soup was lovely ! It also warmed my body too! Soon enough the bowl was empty and I was full. Then I said '' That was the best !''
