Simply the Best - Room 22: Pirates of the Curry Bean

The costumes and makeup that I saw in the blog were fantastic and I saw a comment from Mr Hayward saying that he didn't believe how good you guys were for yr 5 & 6.
Well done to everyone for the hard work

Korean Student visit

I made two new friends. They were called Alex and Sam. I will miss them and remember how funny they were. RVDM

The Production

It was really fun acting in the production. I was a monkey and enjoyed it. My favourite part was the admiral jumping of the docks. RVDM

This Friday is Daffodil Day

Reminder to students that we are selling daffodils for Daffodil Day today and tomorrow because we have the Father's Day breakfast on Friday morning.  We are anticipating a big crowd.  In class we have a coin trail.  Remember to bring some coins to help raise money for the Cancer Society.

WOW - From Mr Hayward

WOW – last night I saw your production for the first time and I was blown away (and that had nothing to do with the curry beans either).  It was without a doubt the best night of entertainment I’ve had for a long time!  The way you performed and worked together as a team was incredible and I would not have thought I was watching a bunch of primary school students.  All the hard work was so worth it – and I just think it was a shame that not every parent in the school got to see and enjoy it.  Make sure you thank your teacher for all their input and effort because without them you would not have been able to shine as brightly as you did.  I was very proud of the students I have taught in the past; as I’m sure many of the other junior teachers were too!  I hope you learnt a huge amount about the privilege of performing and team work, and that you will take any opportunities you get in your future to do things like this again.

Awesome work everyone and thanks again for a great night.

Mr Hayward  =)

The Alphabet in today's language

Cyber Safety

Hector and his friends teach us about cyber safety which is really important.  You can watch this with mum and dad and talk about what you see together.

Pirates of the Curry Bean

The Senior Syndicate has been working very hard to practise for our Production of The Pirates of the Curry Bean.   We have a wonderful, funny script written by Craig Hawes, fantastic costumes and scenery.  We are amazed by all the talent in our actors and actresses.

WELL DONE EVERYBODY.

Farewell to our Korean Friends

On Monday, our Korean students held a special assembly to show us some Korean K-Pop, sing us some songs in Korean and tell us how much they have enjoyed their time with us.

We have enjoyed making our new friends.  There was lots of tears this morning from both sides as our Korean friends left for the airport.
Safe travelling.  We will miss you.

John Parker - NZ Author

Yesterday John Parker came and talked to us about being an author.  He said that when writing you need to choose a topic that is interesting to you as an author.    Mr Parker also said that to write in an interesting way, we needed to practise lots, so that we improved.  He gave us an example of his writing when he was twelve years old which was very like what we write.  This writing was for the teacher and not what interested him.  When he gets frustrated with his writing, his hobby is to punch his teddy bear.  Mr Parker read to us and we enjoyed the stories very much.
Mr Parker carries a note book to write about things that interested him.  He was interested in our fish tank with the fish and how they behaved when they were fed.
