Term recount by JWM

This term I think I am doing perfect. I got in the school soccer team which is awesome and I am learning all sorts in maths. Now I am using my personification in my writing and best of all is camp coming soon. I bet it will be awesome as.

There was this house in the neighborhood. No one would dare go near it. No one lived in it. It was old and rusty. It had broken windows and lots of spider webs. They're are bats hanging on the edge of the house. No one knew were the house came from. It also had a sign on top of the house saying Beware .

Caesar and Patricia Stroud

Today Patricia Stroud came to our school to talk about her book Caesar. Caesar is a dog who was a mascot in World War One, and helped find injured soldiers. Caesar died from a sniper bullet and is buried in France.

We also learnt that because of the gas in WW1, the horses in WW2 had gas masks. Also sometimes German soldiers would help with the wounded and take them to German hospital.

Caesar died when he was four years old in France. He had been in France about one year.

We like the story of Caesar and our visit with Mrs Stroud.

term 1 mm

This term I have learnt how importent it is to eat healthy food. A good way of doing this is keeping a food record . I now choose food such as fruit and vegetables over junk food. I have also learnt more at maths. I was a bit bad but I hope I will do better at it. I have also done dance and I hope I will become a dancer.

The grass

The grass sways as it sings as it sings a litte song.
The grass cringes as rugby boots pierced them.
The grass is as crowded as a bar when the soccers on,

All the grass can shout is "Move over."
The grass screams as the lawn mower chops thier heads off.
The grass slowly grows back and I think you know what happens next.

The trees whisper in the park and touch childrens backs with their icy fingers.
the swing growns in agony as children take turns to swing on its back.
the bees deliver pollen flower-to-flower place-to-place.

the grass dances in the music from the wind.

The trees are dancing in the breeze.
The leaves whirl beneath the trees.
The trees bend down and try touch their toes.
When the branches touch each otheryou can hear a crunching noise.

Ferno the fire dragon

A trail of hot aggresive fire led down a blood red body to the bottom of a scaled tail.
Ferno a flaming dragon with razor sharp teeth like a hundred daggers.
His roar is so loud you can hear it 6 km away
His delicate eyes looking out for his prey.
When he flies the fire spreads across his wings like a disease spreading across a village.
Carelessly he lands on a rock with a smash under his furious claws.
His fire tail whips around like a falling comet.

Winter b.k

Winter shivers in the blast of the wind.

Thunder shouts boom boom.

The raindrops chase each other down the blue sky as fast as they can.

The white snow rushes down trying to tag each other through the sky.

They come knocking on my door like someone is wanting to come in.

Term one recount E.P

Term one was excellent. I learnt to add and subtract decimals and do art. Our class is friendly, fun and exciting . We had a trip to Pak n save and we looked at how healthy the food we eat is, Also we looked at what colors our vegetables are.

Our Trip to PaknSave

One day we went on a nutritious visit to PaknSave with a nutritionist, but first we had a bus ride. We lined up at the front of the school and waited. Finally when the bus arrived at our school we all jumped on, it was a great trip I sat with my Mum. When we got there the nutritionist was waiting, she gave us a work sheet. We had to look at specific things and find a healthy one and an unhealthy one. I enjoyed myself a lot after that we went to the fruit & vegetable section and put them in columns of what colour they were, it was great! Then we went outside and hopped on the bus and found out it had broken down. Half of us started chanting and singing, I felt like chopping my ears off they were so loud but I couldn't. In about ten minutes the noise finally stopped, another bus picked us up and we went back to school.

Pak ‘n Save School Trip - AJK

It was a sunny Friday in Auckland; room 22 were going to Pak ‘n Save in Botany Downs for a field trip to learn about healthy food. We got to the supermarket by bus. When we got there, Naomi, the Pak ‘n Save Nutritionist was already there waiting for us. After a quick briefing of what we ought to be doing, she gave us worksheets for our project.
We were divided into groups with a parent-helper to supervise and help us in our mission. My mum was the parent-helper. I had to behave super-good so I won’t embarrass her with bad manners. Our first project was to do some comparison of what was considered as healthy choice of food to eat and what was not. Secondly we were to categorised fruits and vegetables base on the colours of the rainbow. I had fun going from different sections of the supermarket to find and compare nutrition values of each food product. My favourite part was learning about different kind of fruits and vegetables.
On the way back to school, the bus that supposed to transport us back was malfunction so we had to wait for a replacement. It was a long wait and we made so much noise. Finally the replacement bus came and we got back to school safely.

This term I have had so much fun with going to PaknSave, with all of the bake sales and I got house leader for Sheppard with josh.

I got the teacher I want and I have Ella in my class, sadly my best friend went to England for four weeks.
